Type experiments

36 Days of Type is a project that invites designers, illustrators and graphic artists to express their own interpretation of the letters and numbers of the Latin alphabet. In 2021, I also used the project as an opportunity to experiment with the forms and possibilities of Latin characters and draw inspiration for future typographic work. I wanted to find as many different shapes and »solutions« as possible for the individual letters and numbers, although I was often drawn to strong contrasts and sweeping, flowing forms. After completing the 36 characters I used Blender to play around with the shape even more as well as experimement with color and texture. I found it particularly interesting how color and texture diversify the same original shape and can change a character's personality.
